UNITY - SOCIETY OF UNITED MOTORISTS (buttonhole fitting) - membership enamel badge (c.1935)
Postage is extra.
.
For sale is a vintage enamelled membership badge issued by UNITY - SOCIETY OF UNITED MOTORISTS. This one is a gent's badge with its buttonhole fitting (ladies' badges have a pin fitting). This badge is in pristine condition.
UNITY was established at Cardiff in January 1935 and whose “.... chief aim was the closer union of motorists, owners and drivers”. The society was an advocacy group for motorists with objectives “....to secure equitable taxation, maintenance of good roads, fairer motoring laws and redress of all injustices”. The latest activity I've come across for UNITY was a mention in the Manchester Evening News (9th October 1940) and it's likely the society had closed some time during the war.
