Fabulous Vintage Rare Arklow Pottery Blue and White 10 Inch Wall Plate in an Unusual Pattern with Carnations and a Windmill on a Hill, Very Aesthetic Movement in Style, Display Only
I am continuing my effort to downsize as unfortunately we will have to move all our belongings into temporary storage due to builders carrying out major remediation works to our brand new home.
I’m downsizing my Arklow Pottery collection next, and only plan on keeping a couple of patterns. I have a number of Blue and white, Teal and White and Pink and White wall plates that I was keeping for a wall display, but as I no longer have a suitable wall in our new house they are now surplus to requirements.
I am listing separately, but they would work well together as part of an Arklow Pottery wall display or on a county kitchen dresser.
For sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Arklow Pottery Blue and White 10” Wall Plate in an Unusual Pattern with Carnations and a Windmill on a Hill, Very Aesthetic Movement in Style, Display Only
This a very unusual and rare Arklow pattern in the Aesthetic Movement style featuring large and medium carnation motifs on the left and right sides of the plate, with a landscape scene featuring a windmill on a hill in in the centre. The early backstamp dates it to the 1930/40’s.
It is in fair overall vintage condition with no chips or cracks, but there is serious discoloured crazing to the entire plate as photographed, but who doesn’t have some blemishes by the time you reach 90 years old!!! In my opinion, I think it adds to the character of this particular plate.
Check the photos for the condition and the respective backstamp.
The Plate measures 10 inches/ 25cm in diameter.
