Washing Machine

Washing Machine Washing Machine Washing Machines

Perfectly working washing machine. One year old. Needs to go into a house where it sits on the floor. Rubber drum belt connecting to the engine fell off and I don’t want to use it as putting it back on causes too much strain as machine has to be taken down and belt put on. Otherwise perfect and very energy efficient.

Hello, The belt is still there. It will need to be pulled on the drum. Otherwise machine is perfect. After a great advise here on Adverts from people and research, we realised that we need a machine with an inverter motor.

Vibration mat won't help because the problem is caused by the weight of the wet clothes moving in the drum. It's more of a constant shifting weight slightly bending the unit the washing machine is in - your eye wouldn't notice it, if you leave your hand on the floor of press above washing machine when it's doing a wash and beginning spin cycle you'll should feel the sensation. It's more transfer of energy than vibration. That movement is enough to throw machine belt off. In my case the Samsung motor sensor could sense the vibrations would not spin the wet clothes at all.

@sasa.ritlop Thank you so much for the offer. Can I please take some time to problem solve?. I am conscious that new machine will cause issues due to it being on a shelf.

@rn Thank you so much for advice. Would adding a new belt and anti vibration mat help?

It's unlikely to help much. But a newer washing machine could tolerate the vibration better for a year or two. I replaced a Samsung with a Bosch. The main thing that helps is loading the washer correctly. Medium loads. I plumbed the Samsung in my garage & it does the big loads for us now. The Bosch on the elevated shelf does light loads and looks good.

@rn Thank you so much! Would getting a different model help?

The problem here is the unit elevated shelf is not strong enough to support a washing machine when there's an uneven load. I had same problem. Will work fine when on concrete floor. Had exactly the same problem and set the old one up in the garage
