€1,950

Just back from Vegter Violins with new high quality strings, and a new sound post, neck strengthened to body, varnish touched up. The sound is deep, vibrant, warm and full. The sound far exceeds many violins quoted at the same price, (with estimates higher that the asking price), so it is a good investment also.
Old 4/4 HOPF violin from the third quarter of the 19th century. A higher grade Hopf with amazing scroll work, a very even and fine inner. The violin has some historic, well repaired lines on the top. The back is beautifully grained, consisting of 1 piece. There is a brand mark with the name HOPF both inside the violin and above the back, which are hard to find. Can be viewed and tested, please bring your own bow.
The sizes are:
Total length 59.2 cm
Scale 31.8 cm
Body 35.6 cm
Waist 11.8 cm
Width above 16.3 cm
Width bottom 20.4 cm
WEIGHT 430 g

Big price drop. It's low now for such a quality violin.

@Trionageraghty 4000 plus. It's a genuine Hopf, rare double stamps. The price depends on the seller.

Hi, can I ask what Vegter violins said about it - what did they value it at? Thanks
