Vintagr Seiko Bellmatic

For sale is a fantastic vintage Seiko Bell-Matic automatic, one of Seiko's most distinctive vintage models and featuring the mechanical alarm complication.

This example has a very attractive gold/champagne dial surrounded by a contrasting dark inner alarm ring, applied baton hour markers and a day/date display at 3 o'clock. The red Sunday indication and red detailing on the alarm scale give the watch a great 1970s look.

The caseback shows reference 4006-6040, housing Seiko's well-known 17-jewel 4006 Bell-Matic automatic movement.

Importantly, all functionality is working, including the automatic movement, day/date and mechanical alarm. The watch is also keeping good time in my ownership. However, the service history is unknown and I feel it would benefit from a service, so I've priced it accordingly.

The watch is in good honest vintage condition. There are age-related marks and wear to the case, bracelet, crystal and dial, as shown clearly in the photographs. I haven't tried to disguise any of this – it's a characterful vintage piece rather than a restored example.

It comes fitted to a Seiko-signed stainless-steel bracelet and clasp, which really completes the period look.

A really cool piece of vintage Seiko engineering and considerably more interesting than a standard three-hand automatic.
