Vintage Certina

For sale is a lovely vintage Certina hand-wound mechanical watch, measuring approximately 30mm excluding the crown.
A beautifully simple vintage piece with a classic silver sunburst dial, slim applied gold-tone baton markers and contrasting dark hands. The minimalist design and smaller case size give it a very elegant mid-century dress-watch appearance.

Inside is a Swiss Certina 17-jewel manual-wind movement, which is running very nicely. I’ve tested the watch on a timegrapher, where it was showing approximately +9 seconds/day, 263° amplitude and 0.0ms beat error. These are excellent-looking figures for a vintage mechanical watch and the reading is pictured in the advert.

The watch is fitted to a very attractive brown textured leather strap, which complements the gold-tone case particularly well.

Condition is good for its age, with the expected signs of use and ageing to the case and dial. There is some visible wear to the gold-tone finish, particularly around the case/lugs, which I have tried to show clearly in the photographs. Please study all photos as they form an important part of the description.

At 30mm, this is very much a traditional vintage size. It would work particularly well as a smaller men's dress watch or as a unisex/ladies vintage piece.
