Vintage Bifora TOP German Mechanical Watch 1950s/60s Serviced
A little piece of German watchmaking history, still ticking after more than sixty years.
There was a time when a wristwatch was more than something that told you the time. It was a companion, worn every day, carefully wound each morning, and often kept for decades.
This beautiful Bifora TOP comes from that era.
Made by the German watch manufacturer Bifora, founded by Josef Bidlingmaier in Schwäbisch Gmünd, this watch most likely dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Inside beats a Bifora calibre 934, a mechanical movement with manual winding and a central seconds hand — a lovely example of traditional German watchmaking.
The silver-coloured dial has aged gracefully, retaining its original character. Golden hour markers, elegant hands, a distinctive numeral 12 and a slender red seconds hand give this little watch a personality of its own.
The case carries the marks of its long life. These have been left as part of its history rather than polished away.

But its story hasn't ended.
Perhaps it's simply waiting for another wrist, another morning, and someone who still enjoys winding a mechanical watch by hand.
A small watch with a long history — and plenty of time still to give.
