1970s King Seiko
A superb vintage King Seiko Hi-Beat, reference 4502-7010, powered by Seiko’s celebrated calibre 4502A 25-jewel hand-wound movement.
This is a particularly attractive example, with a silver/white textured dial, applied baton markers, framed date window at 3 o’clock and the classic KS / HI-BEAT signature. The angular stainless-steel case retains its distinctive vintage King Seiko profile, complete with signed KS crown and gold KS medallion to the caseback.
The watch is paired with a period-style stainless-steel bracelet that suits the sharp 1970s design extremely well.
The movement is running strongly. As pictured on the timegrapher, it was measuring approximately +2 seconds/day, with 218° amplitude, 0.5 ms beat error, and the correct 36,000 bph high-beat rate at the time of testing.
Very good vintage condition overall, with age-related marks, scratches and wear visible to the case, crystal, dial and bracelet. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
A lovely opportunity to own one of Seiko’s classic high-grade mechanical watches from the golden era of King Seiko—full of vintage character and powered by one of the brand’s great hand-wound high-beat movements.
