Going into storage in October if not sold.
I’m reluctantly putting my Rover Sd1 2300 up for sale. She’s in immaculate condition, having had a full windows out respray, and remediation for some corrosion in the usual places. The petrol tank was also completely refurbished, and is as new. I can supply photo’s and some video of the work done during the respray on request.
Finished in Persian Aqua Blue, with a non-standard dark blue body contour stripe , brown velour seats and oatmeal interior, this is a prime example of the iconic Straight Six SD1. She’s a pleasure to drive, and while she’s up for sale I’m taking full advantage of taking her out for a run at every opportunity.
This car has only 26,000 original miles, and since I bought her I have had her fully re-commissioned and regularly serviced. Her carpets, door cards, and new headlining are in perfect order, and all lights, switches, and mechanicals are working as they should. The car is not concours, but with very little work could certainly be brought to that level.
The car is badged as a 2600, but is a standard 2300, a very rare variant of this car. The story was that the first owner, who worked for BL, and was retiring, arranged for the badge to be put on in the factory.
Other work I got done was wiring to the towbar lighting, and the installation of rear seatbelts.
The car is currently on an Irish Registration, but her original UK registration was FNR 583V. Viewing is by appointment please. The car can be viewed at either Carlingford or Drogheda Co. Louth. Messages will be answered, and phone calls after 8pm will be replied to the following day.
I also have the original steelie wheelies for the car, together with their original alloy style hubcaps. These can be purchased separately if you wish. I can supply photo’s of these on request.
