Beautiful Jaguar XJ6 Series III finished in Tudor White fitted with the desirable “pepper-pot” alloy wheels. Completely resprayed and hand-finished throughout, including the engine bay, boot, bonnet, boot lid, door shuts, hinges and door interiors.
Rare factory-style five-speed transmission transforms the driving experience, allowing the twin overhead-cam engine to deliver its performance while achieving approximately 23 mpg in gentle driving. The car is exceptionally dry, with virtually no oil leaks, and spotless engine bay.
No expense spared during refurbishment, including engine rebuild, new water pump, alternator, hoses, brakes and stainless-steel exhaust. Front and rear suspension completely rebuilt with new shock absorbers, bushes, power steering components and correct wheel alignment.
Rear axle assembly removed, dismantled and fully rebuilt, including half-shafts and wishbone needle bearings. Car tracks perfectly, starts instantly hot or cold, and drives exactly as a properly sorted Jaguar should. It is rust-free throughout.
Unmarked Tudor White paint is complemented by excellent chrome trim and extensive renewal of exterior rubber seals and window rubbers. Correct Jaguar mud flaps fitted to protect stone chips, along with period Lucas spotlights.
Inside, the original Oxblood leather seats are matched by new carpets, a new grey headlining and a beautifully preserved timber dashboard. New wood inserts have been fitted to the door cards. Electric windows and mirrors.
Car comes with what appears to be a new old-stock pepper-pot spare wheel and Pirelli tyre. The remaining tyres have covered very few miles, although they are some years old.
Benefiting from low classic-car road tax and inexpensive insurance, this Jaguar has been my pride and joy for the past 23 years. Always garaged and never driven in the rain. For sale due to lack of space.
