1970 Mk1 escort 2.0 RS2000 rally car replica .

I Have recently purchased this vehicle and had every intention of it becoming my summer Toy, however a change in work plans means this is highly unlikely.

The good the bad, the ugly.......

Its a 56yr old ford, build quality was questionable in 1970 and this hasnt improved at all with time, its never been crashed heallvily, its had a bit of welding, the panel gaps aren't amazing.......but its a really presentable little car, the paint isnt bad at all, and it really turns some heads.

The car works perfectly, all the day to day bits work as expected. Ive used it pretty much constantly since I've had it and its been perfect.

Its had a good deal of work done to it, by me and the previous owners, and you will find the following to be true:

Interior......there isnt much but it all works
Bucket seats and harnesses - deceptively comfortable
Competition suspension- bit hard, but it handles
Tyres - recently new, but my fondness for leaving junctions sideways has taken the newness off them
Steering - it has a brand new quick rack which means its super fun to drive , apart.from under 5mph where its like turning a cruise ship.
Competition roll cage
Straight cut gearbox - not the quietest but the ratios are great
Wiring - needs tidying
Engine 2.0 pinto , powerful, and seems in great condition, ive started going through it and im pleased so far.
Fast road cam - idles like a pig, pulls like a train

Its never going to be a show winner but it means it can be driven and enjoyed, it starts first crack and has been uber reliable .
