@Hi, the knife is made with Cases CV steel very similar to C75, the patina has been forced using gun blue as this helps protect the carbon steel from rusting.
As a collector of Case , Boker and Swiss Army all my knives are well maintained and cleaned and oiled regularly with Ballistol oil .The springs on this knife are 100%.
The knife has been carried and the yellow delrin handles show some signs of wear but these can be polished .
Yes, I am aware of the price of these in their country of origin but adding postage and import duty and the possibility of it not getting further than customs, ( yes believe me that happens )as in Ireland we cant be trusted with highly dangerous weapons like this .All this inflates the price .
If you like, i can accept your offer for further discussion?

No worries at all, and I appreciate you getting back to me.

Just to explain how I arrived at my offer, I’ve done a little research into the Case XX Large Stockman 3375 CV, including its production history, specifications and market value.

It’s certainly a lovely traditional American knife, but being a 2018 production model with standard yellow Delrin synthetic handles, it’s not an especially rare or antique example.

Looking at the photographs, the blades appear to have considerable patina and discolouration, with some areas potentially showing surface corrosion. I appreciate that carbon steel naturally develops a patina, but the overall condition still needs to be factored into its second-hand value.

There’s also the question of previous sharpening, blade wear, spring tension and blade play, which are difficult to assess without inspecting it in person.

I’ve also found brand-new examples of the closely related Case XX 3375 CS Large Stockman, with carbon-steel blades and yellow synthetic handles, advertised for approximately $75 in the US. Obviously, postage and import charges would be additional, but it’s still a useful comparison against the €140 asking price for a used example.

I genuinely wasn’t trying to insult you with my €45 offer. I simply based it on the model, its age, visible condition and the alternatives available.

That said, I do like the knife, and I’m not opposed to finding a figure that works for both of us.

Rather than going backwards and forwards with offers, can I ask what your absolute best price would be? If we’re reasonably close, perhaps we can work something out.

Thanks again!
