16" Dobsonian telescope fully upgraded + Bonus DIY Tracker system and EQ Platform

FOR SALE — 16" Dobsonian Reflector with Upgrades
Moving on my GSO 16" Dobsonian to make room for a new project.
This is a well kept manual 16" Dobsonian with meaningful practical upgrades — ready to use for any visual observer wanting to go for spectacular deep sky views and stunning Planetary or Lunar observing. For the hands-on hobbyist or electronics enthusiast, two DIY bonus additions take it considerably further.

The Scope:
- GSO 16" Truss Tube Dobsonian
- 406mm aperture, f/4.5, 1800mm focal length
- 18-point mirror cell with 4.7" cooling fan
- 2" Precision Micro 10:1 Linear Bearing Crayford focuser
- 70mm secondary mirror with 94% enhanced aluminium coating
- Roller bearing base with CNC-machined adjustment brake system

Upgrades & Modifications:

- Bob's Knobs collimation screws fitted to secondary — fully tool-free collimation in the field
- Primary mirror springs replaced with heavier-duty upgrades for improved mirror cell stability
- Secondary mirror dew heater fitted, with wiring integrated neatly into the upper cage
- Telrad finder fitted with a DIY dew heater on the glass — no fogged finders mid-session
- Magnetic counterweight slider fitted
- Rocker box modified for disassembly and transport — 2 sides fold down, third side clips with latches. Detaches from the base for easy loading. The whole scope breaks down and fits in the boot of an estate
' - Wheelbarrow' style wheeled platform included — the fully assembled scope sits on this and can be rolled from shed to patio or wherever needed without disassembly. Ideal if you have a permanent or semi-permanent setup

Bonus #1 — Romar Optics EZ GoTo system (DIY installed):
A Romar Optics EZ GoTo system is installed and working. GoTo, tracking and Push-To via Android app and Windows Stellarium. I made a YouTube video of the installation here:

This is a hobbyist electronics DIY project. The EZ system runs via the EZgoto app you install on your phone. It works but is not a finished commercial system. The electronics (motor drivers etc.) are exposed and cable management is not fully tidied. I have run it under icy and dewy conditions with no issues, but it would suit someone with a hands-on/DIY background who would enjoy finishing it off. 12V/20Ah power supply battery included.

Bonus #2 — DIY Motorised EQ Drive Platform:
A DIY motorised equatorial platform - Reiner Vogel Vertical North Segment design, tested and working at latitude 52°N. Powered by 2 x Celestron EQ drives providing up to 30 minutes tracking per session (run conservatively at ~10 minutes to assist the motors). Rated for 55kg+ load. Sized specifically for the GSO 16" rocker box. Full build thread and photos linked below.


CONDITION:
I have used this as my main observing scope regularly with wear consistent with that. Structurally solid throughout. Optics are in perfect order. Collimation recommended after transportation as standard practice with any large Dob. If used in the same location collimation holds well.

Price reflects the scope as a manual Dobsonian including the upgrades - Both bonus additions are included at no extra cost.
For a visual observer this is a well-upgraded 16" Dob ready to go.
For the right hobbyist it's all of that plus two working DIY projects with real practical value that reward some finessing.
