We have one of these lamps and love it, which is why we bought two more. Then we decided to get wall lamps outside instead. Photos are of our lamp. As you can see it looks perfect despite a couple of years of use, so this lamp wears well.

Works perfectly on a shelf. Also very handy in a powercut! On the brightest level you can use it as a gentle torch. Two would look beautiful on a table inside or outdoors.
