Eileen Gray for Jumo N71 Lamp
For sale here is a stunning No.71 desk lamp designed by Eileen Gray for Jumo, in France, during the 1930's.
It is made with a combination of chrome plated tube, aluminum corrugated base and lampshade with a double sided movable arm. The lamp is made very solid and with high-quality materials. The lampshade can be brought into different positions for better illumination.
The foot has a heavy casting, which ensures a secure stand. Finished in a silver and chrome.
This retro lamp is in fantastic overall vintage condition. Really an excellent example of a mid century design classic!
Eileen Gray (1878–1976) was an Irish-born designer and architect, renowned for her pioneering work in modernist furniture and architecture. After studying in Paris, she became known for her innovative use of materials like lacquer and tubular steel. Gray's most famous work includes the iconic E-1027 house on the French Riviera, a masterpiece of modernist design. Her contributions to design and architecture were largely overlooked during her lifetime but have since been recognized as highly influential in shaping modern aesthetics.
