I managed to get hold of someone on the An Post website live chat (miracle of miracles), and here's how it went down:

- Me: Hi: is it permitted to send ink (specifically, a bottle of fountain pen ink) by post *within* ireland?
- Libby, customer services: Hi once it is in Ireland yes
- Me: Yes, it would be going from Dublin to Cork
- Libby: yes that is fine

Would that be OK with you?

Thanks! I think that liquids are prohibited from *international* postage, but I don't know if there's a similar restriction for postage within Ireland (at least, I've bought lots of ink and perfumes on Adverts before with no problem!) I'll see if I can find out!

@dilby: Unfortunately I don't think An Post allow liquids to be sent via post because of the risk of them spilling, so it won't be possible to send the ink. But I should be able to post the pen & cartridge if you want. Or if you know someone who will be up in Dublin anytime soon we could arrange collection?
