Seiko Alpinist Limited 'Hodinkee' Edition SPB089

Seiko Alpinist SPB089, blue dial, Limited “Hodinkee” Edition with all original boxes and papers as well as an additional genuine Seiko bracelet.

Released in 2018, this limited edition of 1959 pieces was a US-only release and notoriously difficult to get a hold of at the time. This is essentially the same watch as the legendary Sarb017 Alpinist, with a beautiful blue dial, no cyclops and a slimmer caseback than the newer Prospex models. It’s powered by the well-regarded 6R15 movement and is running well within specs.

The watch also features a sapphire crystal and 200m of water resistance. Case size is 39mm and suits all wrist sizes.

This example is in excellent condition, evidenced by the photos, with only very light signs of wear.

The original Seiko leather strap has never been used, and the watch comes with a genuine Seiko stainless steel bracelet, complete with all links. These bracelets are getting more difficult to source and it completely transforms the watch.

These are getting harder to find in this condition, offer excellent value compared to Seiko’s current lineup and should only appreciate over time. Very reluctant sale from me.
