Pioneer CS-353 passive hi-fi loudspeakers. (Untested)

A pair of 1980s (Japanese) Pioneer CS-353 passive hi-fi loudspeakers, which were originally manufactured between 1981 and 1982.

They belong to Pioneer's vintage line of wooden cabinet home stereo speakers and were commonly bundled with the Pioneer X-330 component systems of that era.
Key Specifications:
• System Design: 2-way, 2-speaker configuration enclosed in a bass-reflex wooden cabinet.
• Drivers: Equipped with a 200 mm (approx. 8-inch) cone woofer for low/mid frequencies and a 66 mm cone tweeter for the highs.
• Power Handling: Rated for 30W Nominal (RMS) / 40W Music Power.
• Impedance: 8 Ohms, making them very standard and easy to drive with almost any traditional home stereo amplifier.
• Frequency Range: 50 Hz to 20,000 Hz.

For their size, these speakers punch well above their weight in low-end bass. Pioneer achieved this by building them as a front-ported Bass Reflex system.

• How it works: When the internal 8-inch paper woofer moves backward, it pushes air inside the box. Instead of that energy getting trapped and muffled, Pioneer cut a precise structural hole (the port) on the front baffle. This routes the internal air pressure right back out toward the listener, acting like a natural acoustic amplifier for deep bass frequencies.

A True Product of the "Made in Japan" Golden Era
Unlike modern mass-market electronics that are outsourced globally, these cabinets were designed and manufactured directly in Japan during the peak of Pioneer's physical manufacturing supremacy.

The 1980s was an era where even entry-to-mid-tier Japanese audio gear was built with solid, thick internal structural timber, real copper wiring, and heavy internal magnets designed to structurally survive for decades.

Highly Forgiving Engineering (The 8-Ohm Sweet Spot.) Pioneer engineered the internal electrical crossovers to run at a rock-solid 8 Ohms of impedance with an efficient power handling curve. In plain English: they are incredibly "easy to drive." You don’t need an expensive, high-end power amplifier to make them sound loud and clear. They will perform beautifully connected to almost any amplifier, vintage receiver, or cheap modern digital mini-amp on the market today.

These are completely untested as I do not have the proper amplifier or speaker cables to test them out. Because of this, they are being sold strictly AS-IS / For Parts. Perfect project for a vintage audio hobbyist.

In all likelihood they probably do work because everything else I pulled out of the same bone dry attic worked without issue. Valued at 100 euro if tested & working.
