Sonor Phonic D515 Snare Drum

Up for sale is a great drum.

This was put together by renowned drum technician Richard Newby.

14" X 5.75"
9 ply beech shell.
Ferromanganese hoops - spun so no seam and the top hoop is a heavier gauge than the bottom, as from the factory.
Original snare wires.

This drum is a 'replica' but using all Sonor parts and crafted with Newby's famous meticulous attention to detail.

It started life as a 14"x14" tom, was cut down and factory edge and snare beds cut in. The lugs are new from but designed for a beaded snare so have a small gap - not particularly noticeable.

Correct hoops, rods and wires but fitted with the amazing Dual Glide snare system which allows you to remove the bottom head without having to detach and reattach the wires.

Stained to resemble the mahogany or rosewood finish of the originals.

In great condition. Heads are old but plenty of life left in them.

The reissue sells for €900.

My price includes a case and I can post anywhere.

If you find Newby Drums on Facebook, he has made a full documentation of this build.

I'm only selling as I found a deeper Phonic snare which suits me more.
