Vintage 1952 Queen’s University Belfast Silver-Plated Flatware Set (5 Pcs) - Sheffield Gladwin & Harrison Bros

Description:
For sale is a rare, authentic lot of 5 vintage institutional flatware pieces custom-stamped for The Queen’s University of Belfast. This collection features a traditional Old English pattern with a fiddle-style handle tip, each proudly bearing the university's official crest on the front.
These heavy-duty institutional pieces were built to last, famously manufactured in Sheffield, England, to withstand daily university dining hall use.

Lot Includes & Maker’s Marks:
• 1x Dessert/Soup Spoon & 3x Dinner Forks: Stamped with the highly regarded "GLADWIN EMBASSY PLATE A1" hallmark. It includes the square date code "52", dating these specific pieces precisely to 1952. Gladwin Ltd (Rockingham Street, Sheffield) was renowned for supplying high-grade electroplated silver to luxury ocean liners and premium British institutions.
• 1x Salad/Dessert Fork: An matching institutional companion piece featuring the same university crest, but manufactured by the historic Sheffield firm "HB & CO S" (Harrison Brothers & Howson) and stamped "EP" (Electro-Plate).

Condition:
Good vintage condition with a beautiful, natural patina. As authentic pieces used within the university, they show typical light surface scratching, minor scuffs, and signs of age-appropriate use. The silver plating remains intact, and the university crests on the front of all handles are beautifully crisp and legible.

Perfect for Queen’s University Belfast alumni, collegiate memorabilia collectors, or anyone interested in Northern Irish academic history.(Google)
