Early-1920s Art Deco WMF Oxidised Silver-plate (on brass) Tobacco Box

Stamped with the German maker's mark (WMF), this very unique, elegant and collectable tobacco box retains its period patina and character unmistakably (between 1910-1920). The oxidising of the silver plating gives a dark grey anthracite finish in the recessed areas on the surfaces, highlighting the Celtic knot motif wonderfully. Its got some scuffs but no damage, and is still entirely functional. Over the decades the silver plating has naturally worn down, exposing the warm yellow base beneath.

Best that buyer collects in person, so you can see and feel the inherent quality of the craftsmanship. We can arrange middway meeting place or come to Youghal (and you can see if there's other stuff of interest to you amongst my collection...).
A fine thing as a special gift, as much as a rarity for a collector.
