Brass desk set in an eclectic style

A brass desk set in an eclectic style (Neo-Baroque or Art Nouveau). It consists of two decorative elements.
Letter organizer: A large stand with two compartments. Used for vertically arranging envelopes. At the very front of the base, it has a small, shell-shaped shelf. This shelf was used for storing small items, such as nibs or pens.
Stamp box: A smaller element on the right. It has a lift-off, openwork lid with a floral motif (probably a sunflower). Postage stamps were stored inside.
This item likely dates from the late 19th century or the first half of the 20th century. It is characterized by rich, elaborate decorations. The style is reminiscent of the Baroque and Art Nouveau styles. Such accessories were once a staple of elegant office desks.
