Austro-Hungarian 800 Silver & Cut Crystal Basket Bowl

A stunning and substantial antique silver basket comport, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century Austro-Hungarian period. Hallmarked 800 silver, with maker’s mark.
The piece features an elegant pierced foliate band with hand-chased leaf and vine decoration, beaded borders to the rim and base, and a beautifully matched cut crystal insert with fan and diamond motifs. The arched silver handle is beaded and proportionally generous.

In excellent antique condition with natural patina. The crystal insert is intact and undamaged.
A rare find; this quality and weight of Continental silver rarely comes up for sale outside of auction.
