Art Nouveau Chester Sterling Silver Gravy Boat(145.5 grams)

The first thing to say about this very desirable piece..is that it was made in Chester..whose assay office closed in 1962.The gravy boat has non fussy lines with just a top and centre gadrooned border..Early twentieth century silver concentrated on pure lines that flow in harmony and with less decoration. The boat was assayed in Chester in 1913 and was produced by The Barker Brothers..Edward and Fred(High Holborn Street London 1907-26)..The piece is 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall and weighs a very satisfying 145.5 grams..It is in nice overall condition for it's age..a couple of minute dimples that will push out with the rolling of the back of a spoon..please never attempt to tap out anything on silverware..I will include registered post and very safe packing in the asking price.
