Antique Silver toast rack
Antique William Gallimore & Sons Sheffield Silver-Plated Leaf Spiral Toast Rack
manufactured by the renowned silversmiths William Gallimore & Sons in Sheffield, England, dating back to the late Victorian or Edwardian era (circa 1885–1910).
This highly collectible Aesthetic Movement piece features an incredibly detailed leaf-shaped base with intricate engraved vein patterns and scalloped edges. The upper section consists of a unique, single coiled wire spiral that acts as a multi-slot divider. It stands elegantly on small ball feet.
The underside is clearly stamped with the factory hallmarks: "EP" (Electroplated), "G S" (Gallimore, Sheffield / German Silver base), and "A" (denoting the highest tier of thick, heavy-gauge silver plating).
While traditionally used at the British breakfast table to keep toast crisp, this decorative piece serves beautifully as a vintage desk organizer to hold letters, mail, or business cards.
