Breakdown of the Marks: The Trumpet and Banner: This is the iconic registered trademark for James Dixon & Sons, officially adopted in 1879 to protect their pieces from imitation.J D & S: The letters are stamped in a stylized Gothic script. While the second letter closely resembles a "B" at first glance, it is actually a Gothic "D" representing James Dixon & Sons. 8862 / 20 / Figure-8: These numbers serve as the manufacturer's catalog or design reference number, denoting the specific pattern, style, or size capacity of the item.
