6 x Sheffield sterling Sliver Coffee Bean Spoons.
Full English hallmark:
*A.S.P.Co* - this is the maker's mark for the *Adie & Son / Art Silver Products Co* - a big Birmingham / Sheffield silver novelty maker. They made a lot of the coffee-bean spoons, caddy spoons etc.
Then the 3 small marks next to it are:
1. *Crown* = *Sheffield* Assay Office - so not Birmingham, Sheffield.
2. *Lion Passant* = solid sterling silver.925 - confirms the "HALL MARKED SILVER" on your box is real.
3. *Date letter* - this is the little one on the right. It's a font it's 1930s-40s style Sheffield. That matches the box - "MADE IN ENGLAND" labels like that were post-1920s.
So you have:
- 6 x Sheffield sterling silver coffee spoons
- 1930s/40s Art Deco
- With the original "coffee bean" handles and scallop / shell bowls, gilt inside
- In original fitted case
This is exactly the type collectors want because it's a complete set with the box. I have not polished them.
They are proper silver, not plated.
