5G Router Wi-Fi 6 (SIM Mobile Hotspot) [D-Link DWR-2101]
Don’t overpay for internet in Ireland! For just €20 a month, you can enjoy unlimited, fast 5G with Three. However, you’ll need to purchase a SIM card for your regular phone officially.
The actual speeds depend on your location. In Glasnevin, I’ve experienced download speeds ranging from 300 to 500 Mbps and upload speeds of about 50-70 Mbps. Meanwhile, in Blanchardstown (near the National Aquatic Centre), I consistently enjoyed strong speeds of 450-500 Mbps.
If you’re uncertain about the speeds you’ll get, try checking different areas of your house using a newer 5G phone. It should give you a good idea of what to expect.
I have an additional original battery. Both batteries are sufficient for a full day of work, although actual usage patterns play a role. If you’re downloading 1000GB a day, the battery life will be shorter.
The advantage of having a battery is portability. You can take your device anywhere, even camping! But there’s an additional benefit: during power outages while working from home, you can still use your laptop with internet.
As for the device itself, it’s in perfect working condition. However, I no longer need it since I’ve acquired a heavy duty 1Gbps external 5G antenna.
