Hi all,

Selling my carbon Cervelo R2 road bike, nicely upgraded and always kept indoors.

Upgrades:
• Wheelset: DT Swiss P1800 Spline
• Tyres: Continental GP5000
• Crankset and rim brakes: Shimano Ultegra (replaced heavy stock cranks).
• Groupset: Shimano 105 11-speed.
• Cockpit: Premium Zipp Carbon Stem & handlebars.

Pedals not included.

Condition & Frame:
The bike had a minor, low-speed slide. Visually, the carbon looks good with only minor cosmetic scuffs on the components/levers. I haven't done a professional structural test, but the bike rides perfectly straight, runs completely silent, and there is absolutely no flexing or creaking.

You are highly welcome to inspect the frame yourself during viewing.

I’ve recently upgraded to a new bike, and it’s just too sad to see this one sit unused in my apartment. It is a fantastic machine, significantly faster and lighter than the stock factory build, and deserves to be out on the road or at least on an indoor trainer!

While riding hands free to navigate, a wind gust blew me off balance and pushed me off the curb. I fell on the road, but caught most of the damage through knee, shoulder and hip, while holding the bike up with my still clipped in shoes. The handlebar touched the ground, so we have a bit of grip tape wear on the right side - easy to replace. Speed was around 16-20kmh. Fork not damaged and frame also clear besides cosmetics, wheels are damage free. I did not do a carbon check, but heard no creaking or obvious damage to the carbon. I tapped the whole frame with a coin to hear for changes in sound - nothing there. I rode the bike afterwards without worry. The reason I am selling is size preference, as I moved towards a different frame geometry/size. I therefore have two different handlebar stems that you could have. I just called Base2Race, and they perform a crash check for a reasonable price - that might be an option that we can discuss in person. After I explained the slide, they told me that it will most likely be nothing serious.

Hi, I’m interested in the Cervélo R2.

Just a few questions before potentially arranging a viewing.

You mentioned the bike had a low-speed slide. Could you tell me exactly what happened and whether the frame, fork, handlebars or wheels made contact with the ground?

Were there any cracks, chips or damage beyond the cosmetic scuffs on the components? Has the frame or fork ever been professionally inspected since the incident?

Also, do you know the year of the frame, and has the bike had any other repairs or replacements?

I’m genuinely interested, but given it’s a carbon bike, I’d ideally like to have the frame and fork professionally checked before agreeing a purchase.
