It's original. These reels were made in China. It's in great condition for a 20 year old reel. They were replaced with fibreglass/plastic reels. (Hence the reference to a lead content) Metal alloy containing a minuscule amount of lead.) Totally harmless unless you eat the complete fishing reel.

It's an original Okuma CV30 CS Convector reel. There is a serial number on the reel which can be used to date the manufacture of the reel. If you get a chance to post a picture of the serial number.
