The SPL Channel One MK1 is a 19-inch, 2U channel strip with a Tube/Solid State Hybrid preamp, a semi-parametric 3-band EQ with an "Air" filter, a de-esser, a compressor/limiter, and a tube saturation circuit, all built around a shielded toroidal transformer and a linear power supply. It provides a range of input options including XLR and TRS, features a front-panel instrument input, and offers +48V phantom power for microphones.

Features and Functionality

Microphone Transformer: 

Features a specially designed input transformer that provides an additional gain of up to 14 dB for the microphone input, increasing operational reliability and adding sonic characteristics. 

Transient Designer: 

The unit incorporates SPL's Transient Designer circuitry, allowing for manipulation of attack and sustain. 

Air Filter: 

A high-frequency filter with a center frequency of 19kHz and a boost/cut of up to ±10dB. 

Tube Saturation: 

A flexible control that allows for the addition of harmonic distortion at various points in the signal chain.
