@psillery1: This is a marketplace, for buying and selling.. for those interested in doing so.

It's not really intended as a "public forum" chatroom for announcing & advertising sad, possibly lonely, interfering, time-wasting, smart-arses with nothing better to do, to embarrass themselves on and harass others with their unrequested "contributions" and irrelevant opinions/feelings/claims /assumptions , but perhaps you could start such a website for yourself, since you seemingly have nothing better to do with your time.

If you're not interested in enquiring about or buying what is advertised, it's best to mind your own business, so as to not waste the time of others too..

My day is already full of wonder without your input..

Well that's grand so. Once again I'm happy with the standard, tone and level of maturity of your replies to what I presented.

I'll take my leave now and withdraw my good luck with the sale as it's obviously upset you somewhat.

I apologise for that. And bloody well done on not embarrassing yourself on here even one little bit. You're obviously an intellectual heavyweight way out of my league.

I'll bid thee anon and won't reply any further. Have a wonderful day.

@psillery1: Congratulations once again for wasting your time to embarrass yourself further still.

No-one has asked for your "contribution".. No-one cares how happy you may be about it..

No-one asked for any of your alleged "facts" (do-gooder opinions and assumptions)

How sad that you have nothing better to do than continually stick your nose into affairs that do not concern you..

I do not require anything from you.. nor your false "good luck"..

"Luck" off.. & go harass someone else..

Wel, my comments are there now for all to read, if they can be bothered.

I'm happy enough with my contribution on here and I'm MORE than happy with the standard of your replies seeing as you haven't disputed any of the facts I have presented.

I think anyone who reads what we've written can come to their own conclusions who is "embarrassing" themselves on a public forum.

Let's leave it there shall we? Good luck with the sale ;-)

@philw63: You have proved nothing.. I have no interest in your alleged purchases or regrets..

@psillery1: No assumptions, or upset, or abuse or ad hominems here.. resorting to falsities is quite pathetic..

Well done for once again re-confirming all I wrote above..

I have no interest or necessity in anything you want to waste your time embarrassing yourself with..

I am not "charging" or "overcharging" for anything.. Learn the definition perhaps..

I am simply offering an item for sale for anyone that may want to buy it..

If you are not interested, go waste your time embarrassing yourself further, hiding behind your psillery1, elsewhere..

Mind your own business..

Seeing as you asked I can if you wish but not on this page. Just checked. I bought it on 17/7/24 for £170.67 + £9 carriage off Ebay UK which converted to €222.72. It was no longer in the original box etc as yours seems to be so I took a wee risk but everything is 100% so perhaps I can consider myself fortunate. It's a great machine for my needs. I will not interfere anymore and regret having done so. Good luck.

@daveycrockett
Wow.... a lot to unpack here. But let's get into the weeds of it shall we?

My friend.... t'wud appear you are the one making assumptions.

I actually do have better things to do with my time. Assumption #1 from you. I'm actually on me holliers atm so I could be doing loads with my time. But posts like yours trigger my inner "saviour", as you say in your very unlettered way :-)

It's an open forum on a selling site. I can comment with or without your blessing. As long as I remain respectful and follow the community guidelines, which i most certainly have done in this particular instance. Unlike you, I have refrained from ad hominems.

Sorry if that upsets you but there ya go. And I don't feel I'm wasting my time. As a musician who has recorded many tracks over the years I'm merely sharing my knowledge.

"Unrequested Opinions"? I'm sorry. I really don't need a "request " from your good self to opine on anything.

"about an item for sale which you have absolutely no interest in buying, or possibly cannot afford, or for ulterior motives,"

Assumption #2, I probably can't afford the item. And what ulterior motive could I possibly have? Assumption #3 right there folks.

I don't even know you. I'm merely stating the fact that you're selling 21 year old technology when for €50 extra one can purchase a brand new 24 channel desk that is far superior to what you are selling, if one wishes to, on thomann.

Am I wrong in any of that?

If someone wishes to purchase the item I've no issue with that. Just as long as they are aware of the fact that you are overcharging (in my "unrequested opinion") for an item that is coming to the end of its life cycle as far as components are concerned. Especially the CD writer which, depending on the quality can fail in any time from 1 year to 30 years, but are commonly constructed with a 25 year life cycle in mind.

I agree older technology can be fun and collectable. However, not everyone will be familiar with the age of this device, its limitations and the cheaper or slightly more expensive devices in 2025.

Now, if they bother to read the comments section in which we're communicating, they will be familiar with the alternatives. If they still want to purchase your highly fiscally inflated item at that point, well sir, that's up to them.

But at least they'll be informed.

And once again, you are not the arbiter of who gets to share their opinion on here. I'm sorry if that upsets you but that's the way it is.

I did consider reporting you on here for abuse but I'll let it slide as I'm an adult and don't get easily offended.

Finally, if I've stated any incorrect factual information on here concerning the item you are selling, I'm happy to withdraw it. Just point out where I made an incorrect comment on the device and the alternatives and I'll formally withdraw it and you can tell all your mates how you put me in my place. Wouldn't that be jolly???

Have a fecking awesome day!!!

@psillery1: Thank you for confirming that you have nothing better to do with your time than to comment on adverts of items you are not in the market for and to "feel compelled" to waste your time sticking your nose in where it does not belong to write 6 virtue-signalling paragraphs making unfounded assumptions and giving unrequested opinions about an item for sale which you have absolutely no interest in buying, or possibly cannot afford, or for ulterior motives, as an alleged saviour of whom you assume "less informed", that you also incorrectly assume may be "taken advantage of" by choosing and deciding for themselves to buy an item they may wish to buy, for many reasons you may be incapable of comprehending or knowing..

There is a whole world of now rare older technologies that are now worth fortunes today, if you can find them, which were thrown away and dismissed by those who were incapable of realising their future value.

Any item is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. Why don't you stick to minding your own business and spend your time on what concerns you instead.. Nobody asked you for your assumptions and opinions on here, unless you are interested in buying..

I have to concur with the previous reply. I bought one of these in full working order from Ebay around a year ago for £220.

This is 21 year old technology with a tiny hard drive by today's standards and a CD writer drive that is due to pack in any day now.

I admit it was a fantastic piece of kit 15 or 16 years ago but it's akin to trying to sell a top of the range Walkman to someone who just bought their first iPod.

It obviously has sentimental value for you. If you're not willing to sell it for what it's worth in 2025 you're probably as well holding on to it to listen to your old recordings.

There's heaps of them on Ebay from €215 up to €400 with a lot of them being sold cheaper than that for parts as they are now at their end of life cycle and components are starting to fail.

I felt compelled to make this post to try and help other less informed users of the situation before they find themselves in a situation where they feel they've been taken advantage of.

If anyone is in the market for a 2025 version of something similar to this product, the Tascam DP24 (yes 24 channels... 8 more than the Boss 1600) is €555 on Thomann. It saves to SD cards or directly to your laptop and if you really want to make CDs of your demos you can burn them from your laptop.

Well, if the buyer has a good rating then you should give them the benefit of the doubt that they will honour their commitment to pay you the amount asked for. Negotiate an insured postage price and once the buyer pays you the agreed costs, post the item to them if collection is not an option...

Hope this helps?
