1980s Taiyo jet hopper radio controlled buggy

Retro 1980s taiyo radio controlled car. Hasn't been used in over 20 years! I put fresh batteries in and the motors immediately engaged both front and back wheels for about 20 secs. After this I tried the controller but no movement. If I flick the cars on and off switch momentarily the wheels will turn.
Selling as spares or repairs.
Still highly recommended and hugely collectable....a fantastic project in the right hands!

Taiyo Jet Hopper II radio control car.
It was typically sold under the Tyco brand in North America as the Tyco Turbo Hopper 2. Some of the search results and images indicate it was released in or around 1988.
It is a well-known vintage RC buggy model from that era, distinctive for its dual motors and 4WD.
