Rare Derryware Hand-Thrown Pottery Coffee Mug from the mid 1970's

A possible impending house move has forced me into evaluating all the contents of my attic and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go!

A fab and Rare Derryware Hand-Thrown Pottery Coffee Mug from the mid 1970's.

Derryware Pottery started in Derry, Northern Ireland in 1976, and this piece is from one of their first ranges. They became known as Moville Pottery from 1986 onwards, possibily due to a change of location. I haven't been able to source much information on this Pottery.

This coffee mug is hand thrown on the potter's wheel, and is a beautiful organic shape, and sits well in the hand.

It is in very good vintage condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or discolouration. The backstamp is present on the reverse.

This piece has been on display only, so is in mint condition and ready to be used.

A lovely piece of Irish Pottery for the collector.
