Irish Studio Pottery Vase Stephen Pearce Shanagarry
This handmade (and signed) vase by Stephen Pearce hails from County Cork, Ireland, and is part of the Shanagarry range, which was developed with his father Philip Pearce in 1962, following a 250 year old tradition of pottery techniques in the area.
Striking and distinctive in its black and white design, this elegant earthenware vase is in excellent condition.
While some items of the Shanagarry range are still in production today, this vase is a rare find due to its unique vertical lines adding texture to the glazed finish.
Given its Irish origin and the color scheme, one cannot help but think of a proper Irish stout with a nice creamy head (in Cork that would be a Beamish or a Murphy's, mind you).
