2 Original 1989 Dublin Theatre Posters Blood Brothers Olympia King of the Castle Abbey Brendan Gleeson Frank Kelly

Pair of original Dublin theatre posters from 1989, both approximately 60 cm x 42 cm.

1. Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers – Olympia Theatre, Dublin – December 1989
Original Olympia advertising poster for the production directed by Danny Hiller.

This is a rigid board poster rather than a paper poster, with very striking colourful artwork. Cast includes Risteárd Cooper, Nigel Richards, Karen Hamill, David O’Meara and others.

The poster shows some age-related marks, scuffs and edge wear, as visible in the photographs. It is mounted/framed but the glass is missing.

2. Eugene McCabe’s King of the Castle – Abbey Theatre – June 1989
Original Abbey Theatre poster for the production directed by Garry Hynes.

Excellent cast including Brendan Gleeson, Frank Kelly, John Kavanagh, Patrick Laffan, David Wilmot, Sean Campion and Ruth McCabe.

This poster is mounted behind glass, however the glass is cracked, so replacement glass or reframing would be recommended.

Both posters are genuine period Irish theatre memorabilia and would appeal to collectors of Abbey Theatre, Olympia Theatre, Irish drama, Brendan Gleeson, Frank Kelly, Risteárd Cooper or vintage Dublin memorabilia.

Approximate size: 60 cm x 42 cm each.
