The Mummy (Complete in box, READ description) PlayStation 1 Retro PS1

🔥 This is a spicy one! It is The Mummy for PlayStation 1. Published by Konami. Developed by Rebellion. The box and manual are in English of course. The disc is WELL TESTED.

🚨READ CAREFULLY! I am not the first owner, when it arrived in my inventory it was in a “Black Bordered” PAL Case and not the typical PAL case. I didn’t think anything of it until I was planning to transfer it into a much nicer donor case when I noticed the artwork front and back had been trimmed. The artwork has been cut at the bottom. The black bordered cases aren’t as tall as a regular PAL case. This no longer fits properly in a typical PS1 PAL box. Please see the photos of what it looks like if you try to put it in a full size PAL box.

I don’t believe this is counterfeit. It looks real, feels real, has typical wear and tear you see with decades old PS1 inserts (also pictured). The front insert also has the print reverse for the Konami helpline. I also think if it was counterfeit, they wouldn’t do such a stupid thing. This was clearly done decades ago before the game exploded in rarity and value. In its box you don’t notice it, but this is such an expensive game you need to have all the information. The front insert there’s a slight stain that looks almost like dried up adhesive, (see pictures)

I unfortunately don’t have any nice donor cases that are the right size for this game. The box has been cleaned and scrubbed in Isopropyl alcohol. If you want a nicer game box, you will need that specific Jewel Black Bordered Case. I will write a list of cheap games at the end of this listing that will have that box off the top of my head. My box noticeably does not have the PlayStation hologram sticker on it.

I will say for all the drama, the black bordering of the case does suit the specific artwork of this game well! The artwork is high contrast and saturated reds.

📀 Otherwise, the manual is mint. The manual has no rust on the staples, no artefacts on any of the pages. The disc is also VERY GOOD condition. It does have some light scratches but it’s in very nice shape. I played all through the first level to test it. The Music score was perfect, the FMVs did not glitch, cutscenes were fine etc.

For the hardcore collectors, I know this is probably one of the last ones you’ve yet to get. It does look pretty damn good. With the artwork debacle I also feel €130 is a fair price for it. I will only sell this to users with good feedback. I would much prefer to do a collection so you can see it in person and inspect it yourself. I’m based in Kildare. I am open to shipping it but we need to get this insured and tracked.
