Japanese heirloom winter squash
Sweet, nutty, chestnut-like flavor and striking teardrop shape with no ridges
Can be left to trail over the soil or trained to climb a trellis or "wigwam" to save space in smaller gardens.
Can be transplanted outdoors after all risk of frost has passed, typically in May or June.
Harvest from September to October.
A single healthy plant typically produces 3 to 5 fruits.
