Vintage French Art Nude - Delphin Enjolras

This pastel painting, titled "Après la Sieste" (After the Nap), is by the distinguished French academic painter Delphin Enjolras (1857–1945).
Delphin Enjolras was known primarily for his intimate portraits of women in lamplight, nudes, and scenes from the everyday lives of the upper classes, most often executed in pastel or oil.
It depicts a nude woman, seated backwards in a bedroom or boudoir, draped on a blue fabric.
The markings on the reverse indicate that the frame dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, or the interwar period, from a French framing workshop (Maison Houzard Rouen). The painting was reframed after being brought to Ireland (second label).
