Vintage framed painting 'Chinese Tassel vase'
Wonderful vintage framed coffee painting of a fine aubergine ground porcelain 'Tassel' vase from the Kangxi period 1662-1722 A.D.
Kangxi is usually counted among the ablest monarchs ever to govern the vast Chinese empire. He reigned for 61 years and laid the foundation for a long period of political stability and economic prosperity in China. This allowed the arts to flourish.
The art of painting with coffee is known as arfé, which is a combination of the words art and café. It is likened to watercolour painting, I found this in Thailand and it is very beautiful in the hand.
In excellent condition in a solid wooden frame.
