About the artist:
Anna O’Hara was a celebrated landscape artist born in Lancashire, England, where she studied at art colleges in both Lancashire and Leicester. She began her career as an art teacher in Norwich, and held her first solo exhibition there in 1966, marking the start of a prolific artistic journey.
In 1976, Anna moved with her family to County Cork, Ireland, where she dedicated herself to painting landscapes in oils and gouache. Her work captured the natural beauty of the Irish countryside, as well as scenes from her travels in France and Morocco. She was passionate about painting “en plein air”, usually working outdoors directly from life—even in challenging conditions like snow—rather than from photographs.
Over her lifetime, Anna O’Hara held more than twenty solo exhibitions, and created nearly 800 original landscape paintings, many of which are now part of private and corporate art collections across Ireland, Europe, the United States, and Japan. Her work is remembered for its vibrancy, authenticity, and deep connection to the natural world. A selection of her paintings have been reproduced as high-quality art prints by the former London Print Studio and, more recently, by Periwinkle Prints.
Anna passed away in 2013, leaving behind a significant legacy as a respected and much-loved female landscape painter whose art continues to inspire.
