Pair Edward Tomkus watercolours - James Joyce & pub scene
Lovely pair of watercolours signed by artist Edward Tomkus. One depicts the writer James Joyce holding a pint of Guinness and smoking a cigarette with the Martello tower at Sandycove in the background; the other a pub scene with two men, one playing a tin whistle.
Each measures 31cms x 22cms including frame. Nicely framed under glass. Edward Tomkus was a Scottish artist (born 1936) who lived in Dublin for some decades until his death in 2020, his work has been sold in many of Ireland's most prestigious auction houses. Tomkus has written his contact details on the back of one. Really fun paintings, would be great for a pub/home bar.
