Original limited edition Ian Logan pop art print on tin 1973
Scarce, British, lithographic Pop Art illustration on tin, featuring the logo of the Lackawanna Rail Road and produced in 1973 as one of six variations in a limited run of only 50.
This eye catching piece was designed by Ian Logan, who was right at the centre of the design revolution that marked the end of post-war austerity. In the early Sixties he and a group of textile graduates from Central St Martin’s formed JRM Design, producing prints for up-and-coming fashion designers such as Mary Quant and Jeff Banks. In the style on Warhol and using the same production techniques as Peter Blake, this work features the logo of the Lackawanna Rail Road which was the ‘Route of Phoebe Snow’, who, ‘dressed in white, Rides the Roads of Anthracite’.
A scarce piece in good overall condition with some age related wear, having been previously wall mounted. Now professionally framed for display. 63cm x 63cm
