Original Acrylic Painting "Covet"

A solitary magpie stands proudly atop a nest woven from jewellery and forgotten treasures. Every chain, pendant, bead and decorative element has been painted by hand, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover new details.
Among the jewellery are subtle references, including a pendant inspired by Titanic. The title Covet reflects the irresistible attraction to beautiful possessions and explores the delicate line between admiration and desire.
The canvas was carefully prepared with acrylic gesso before painting and finished with a protective gloss varnish. The gold and silver details were highlighted by hand using metallic pens, creating delicate reflective accents that catch the light from different angles.
The painted edges continue the composition with jewellery motifs, allowing the artwork to be displayed beautifully without a frame.
