​For sale is a guaranteed original mid-century oil painting on canvas-board, signed and dated W.H. Hall, 1942.

​Evidence of Authenticity:

​Physical Texture (Impasto): This is not a flat print. There is clear physical "impasto" (raised paint) throughout the piece. You can see and feel the ridges of the brushstrokes, particularly on the white petals and the highlights of the blue jug.

​Integrated Signature: The artist signed the work in the same pigment used for the centers of the flowers. The paint of the signature is "in" the work, not printed "on" it.

​Period-Correct Materials: Under close inspection, the paint sits naturally within the weave of the canvas. There are no mechanical "dot patterns" associated with lithographs or modern digital prints.

​Historical Provenance: The reverse features the original framing label from John Gilbert, 120 Patrick Street, Cork. Gilbert was one of the most prestigious framers and print-sellers in Ireland in the early 20th century. A high-quality custom frame from this shop was reserved for original artworks or high-end commissions.

​Condition: Excellent for its 80+ year age. The colors remain vibrant, and the frame is structurally sound with authentic vintage character.has some chips on frame but are consistent with its age.
