STS Lord Nelson (Tall Ship)
• Type: A three-masted barque tall ship.
• History & Design: Launched in 1986 and built for the Jubilee Sailing Trust, she was famously designed to enable people of all physical abilities—including wheelchair users—to sail side-by-side on equal terms. Features included a power-assisted bridge, a speaking compass, and accessible facilities.
• Recent Status: After the Jubilee Sailing Trust entered administration and the ship was auctioned off in 2023, she underwent major repairs and refits at Barry Docks in Wales by the group Good Pirates to prepare for a new mission of sail training, humanitarian outreach, and ocean conservation.
