Nuala Clarke, born Ireland 1970, studied fine art painting at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. She moved to New York City in 1993. In September 2007, she received a fellowship to the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo and began returning to Ireland from New York to work every year.
"My work is concerned with the organisation of space, the relationship between matter and energy and how it is all intrinsically connected to time. I have an abiding fascination with cartography, the sea, the sky, wave action, nature goddess’s and mariners."
