This framed painting appears to be inspired by the famous Dendera Zodiac, depicted on a papyrus sheet. The original zodiac is a carved relief from the ancient Egyptian temple of Hathor at Dendera, now located in the Louvre in Paris. The painting depicts a circular horoscope (zodiac) in typical Egyptian style, with zodiacal figures and symbols arranged in a circle surrounding a central celestial field with smaller figures (constellations).
