This diptych bursts with motion, colour, and layered textures. Two canvases together create the sense of a fish in mid-swim, its body dissolving into abstract strokes of green, pink, orange, and blue. The eye-piercing and alive anchors the left panel, while the right carries the explosion of fins and movement into the unknown. The strokes are sharp, layered, almost like scars of experience turned into energy.

Story of this series

When I started painting this piece, I wasn’t thinking of a fish at first. I was thinking of the moments in life when you feel pulled by the current, not knowing where it takes you. Then, as the colours collided, the fish appeared. Its eye looked back at me, almost asking: Do you trust the flow?

This fish isn’t just lucky, it’s brave. Every scratch, every harsh mark in the paint is a challenge faced, a wound healed. But the energy that bursts forward, the colours that refuse to stay still, are proof that each moment, good or bad, pushes us closer to who we are meant to be.

That’s why I call this series Lucky Fish. Because in truth, all of us are swimming through currents we don’t always understand. Yet, in time, we see the beauty of it: every storm shapes us, every obstacle strengthens us, and every turn brings us closer to becoming the best version of ourselves. This fish, this moment, is about trusting that flow and celebrating the transformation it brings.
