Vintage Evinrude 4hp (1978)

2 stroke, 2cylinder.

Direct Drive (No neutral) - 360° rotation for reverse.

Long Shaft.

Good Spark.

Good compression.

New impeller.

Full carburetor clean and rebuild. Adjusted to good idle when tested.

Throttle Assembly fully serviced, cleaned and fresh grease.

Stator assembly serviced including one new spark plug lead on bottom cylinder.

Stator gaps set correctly.

Good spark plugs.

One new spark plug lead on bottom cylinder.

New recoil spring and rope.

All pivet points disassembled and regreased.

Runs extremely well in tank (Haven't tried on open water).


They don't make engines like they used to. Once the bit of necessary work had been done she fired on second pull.
